IBEW Members Approve Contracts with BNSF Railway and CSX; Narrowly Reject Agreement with Norfolk Southern

Yesterday, IBEW members at two major rail carriers, BNSF Railway and CSX, ratified five-year tentative collective bargaining agreements with the companies. Members at a third, Norfolk Southern, narrowly rejected theirs.

“I’m proud of the efforts of all our rail members in fighting to secure a fair deal for railroaders and their families,” said IBEW International President Kenneth W. Cooper.

These agreements will result in significant wage increases for IBEW members.

“We look forward to working with BNSF and CSX and will continue to work on reaching a fair contract with Norfolk Southern as we enter national negotiations,” Cooper said.
