History of Business Development
In 2011, at the IBEW’s 37th International Convention in Vancouver, Canada, the delegates passed Resolution #38 to establish a business development program. In 2012, three IBEW international representatives were assigned to assume the tasks of business development for the IBEW in the United States. In 2013, three more international representatives were assigned to assist with business development duties. In 2015, IBEW business development became a separate department with twelve international representatives in IBEW Vice-Presidential districts 2 through 11, a research specialist, and a department Director based in Washington, DC to assist and coordinate efforts across the brotherhood.
