Your union asked, and once again you answered the call: Photos by the hundreds were submitted last year for the 2023 IBEW Photo Contest. You showed us your work sites in spaces dark and narrow to wide open. You gave us a glimpse of your union meetings, your parties and picnics, and even your pickets.
A team of judges has sifted through the entries to settle on a group of deserving finalists. Now, the torch is passed to you: Vote to select this year’s contest winners.
At its heart, the IBEW’s annual Photo Contest is a chance for all members to share their unique stories with hundreds of thousands of active and retired brothers and sisters in the other branches and to spread the word about the work they do.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that this year’s photo contest offers the biggest cash prizes ever. This year, the first-place vote-getter will receive a $1,000 reward, with $750 and $500 going to second and third place, respectively. There’s also a $200 honorable mention prize available for each IBEW branch: broadcast, inside construction, outside construction, government, manufacturing, railroad, telecommunications and utility.
Voting is open to anyone with access to a web browser now through Feb. 29. (But one vote per person, please.) Winners and honorees will be showcased in a future edition of The Electrical Worker, and all submissions are documented and stored in the IBEW’s archives.
