What makes a good photo? Is it the lighting or the contrast? Is it the colors or the subject?
Maybe it’s the story that’s being told through the photo. Who better to convey the experiences and stories of IBEW membership through photography than members themselves?
For more than 16 years members of the IBEW from all over the U.S. and Canada have sent in images of their work—restoring the power after storms, helping build their era’s architectural masterpieces—driving the development of new energy sources—and performing hundreds of other jobs that contribute so much to communities across North America and beyond. They capture shots that exemplify who we are as one of the largest and highly-skilled unions in the world. Now it’s your turn.
We invite all IBEW members to enter our 2015 photo contest. It’s your chance to not only match your skills with brothers and sisters across our union’s landscape, but to help chronicle—for posterity—the shining achievements of a union that is prepared and equipped for its future.
First place wins $200, second place $150, third place $100 and honorable mentions win $50. Entering is easy with our online application. Click here for contest rules and photo guidelines. Winners are chosen by fellow members and the public.
The deadline is Nov. 30.
