For 22 years, Union Plus has helped union members and their children attend college.
The program has awarded more than $3.6 million to students of more than 2,400 working families. The awards range from $500 to $4,000 and are for study beginning in the fall each year. Students may re-apply each year.
In addition to demonstrated academic ability, applicants must submit essays describing their career goals, detailing their relationship with the labor movement, and explaining why they are deserving of a union scholarship.
The program is open to union members, their spouses and dependent children that are participating in any Union Plus program. Individuals must be accepted into an accredited college or university, community college or recognized technical or trade school at the time the award is issued.
Applications must be submitted by noon Eastern time on Jan. 31.
