‘Powering a Brighter Future’ Announced as 41st Convention Theme

The IBEW’s 41st International Convention has a theme.

International President Kenneth W. Cooper and International Secretary-Treasurer Paul Noble announced the upcoming convention will adopt the “Powering a Brighter Future” tagline from recent ad campaigns, embracing the idea that the IBEW is at the tip of the spear in transforming North America’s economy for generations to come.

“We’re in a new electrical revolution,” Cooper said. “And IBEW members are leading the charge, just as we have for our entire 135 year history.

“This theme speaks to that, and we’re looking forward to sharing more of what it means with delegates, alternates and guests to the 41st International Convention in San Diego.”

The tagline won’t be new to IBEW members paying close attention. It has been central to recent advertising aimed at growing membership by showing the IBEW as part of a mission to improve the world while also improving one’s own economic situation.

“We’ve had great success by showing non-members that they can be a part of something bigger than themselves with the IBEW,” Noble said. “We want you to come to the IBEW to do better for yourself and your family, but you can also help build better communities, better economies, and a better world for future generations. We can build a brighter future together.”

“We look forward to welcoming delegates to San Diego in September,” Cooper said. “The future of the IBEW is bright.”
