Safety & Health
The Safety and Health Department is responsible for safety and health across all of the IBEW’s trade jurisdictions. From working with OSHA to tracking safety statistics and PPE technology, the IBEW Safety & Health team is engaged with branch departments and industry partners on an ongoing basis to keep members safe on the job.
While the department’s primary focus is occupational safety, the home, community and personal safety of our members is also paramount and frequently a focus of department staff.
The department also processes Life Saving Award nominations and tracks serious lost time accidents and fatalities, which local unions are required to report using the web based accident reporting system.
