The IBEW represents approximately 725,000 active members and retirees in both the United States and Canada. And is among the largest unions within the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO).

The IBEW has members in many skilled occupations in a wide variety of fields, including telecommunications, broadcasting, utilities, construction, manufacturing, railroads and government.
