Children and their families were encouraged to run, walk, crawl or frog-jump their way through the quarter-mile Teddy Bear Trot, part of the Crim Festival of Races sponsored by Flint, Mich., Local 948 and NECA. Held in August and attended by more than 10,000 people, the event included five and 10-mile walks and runs in addition to the children's trot. Established in 1977 to encourage physical fitness, the event also included face painting, bounce houses, food and games, as well as a race shirt and finisher's medal for all participants.
