Special Award

The IBEW presents a special award this year to Brother James McKnight of Local 6, San Francisco, California. He took this shot of fellow Local 6 member Allan G. Smorra changing a lamp on a cable light on the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, a span that many delegates to the recent 36th International Convention saw for themselves, although not quite from  the same vantage! Brother McKnight wanted to submit this for the contest, but the Journal staff felt it was perfect for the cover of the September pre-convention issue.  His dramatic shot captures the spirit of IBEW members working in the San Francisco Bay area and wins for Brother McKnight a special award equivalent to a first place finish.
