Deceased Vincent G. Pearson The IBEW regrets to report the January 12, 2005, death of retired Eighth District International Representative Vincent Pearson. He was 87. Brother Pearson was initiated into California IBEW Local 1245 in 1941. After serving in the Army Signal Corps during World War II, he became active in Salt Lake City, Utah, Local 57. A journeyman lineman his friends called "Vince," he served on the local’s executive board for two years. Then elected business manager, Brother Pearson served in that capacity for 12 years before his appointment to the Eighth District staff in 1963. He retired from that post 19 years later, spending the rest of his life in Salt Lake City. A member of the Elks Club, Brother Pearson was a Shriner who volunteered at the Intermountain Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children. During his 22-year retirement, Brother Pearson kept active by playing golf and attending the annual Eighth District Progress meetings. He and his wife, LaVerda, were married 63 years. They had four children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The officers, staff and members send deep condolences to Brother Pearson’s family and friends. |
