IBEW Bargaining Update

Both Unions met with the company today. The
company passed a counter proposal on Pensions, which is still discriminatory
and is far below expectations.
The company has agreed to accept the Unions
counter proposal on the Academic Award Program.
To date, the company has not met or addressed
a number of the Unions critical demands. If Avaya is intent on forcing
our membership to make personal as well as financial sacrifices, then
we must be just as intent to prevent their "take back"
mentality from becoming a reality.
The Operations Sub-Committee met with the Company
bargaining team and is narrowing the local issues. Any unresolved
issues will move to the main table the last week of bargaining.
Locals must call the results of their strike
vote into the System T-3 Recording Secretary no later than 5:00
PM Tuesday May 27, 2003. |
