Member Elected
to Congress

Linda Sanchez handily beat her Republican opponent in California November 5 to become one of the few IBEW members ever elected to federal office.

Sanchez is a labor activist, attorney and Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Orange County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. In January, she will join her sister Loretta Sanchez in Washington as the first sisters to serve in Congress. For the past four years, Linda Sanchez has worked for Local 441 in Santa Ana, California, investigating and pursuing the prosecution of contractors who violate prevailing wage laws. In Congress, she will serve in a new seat, representing the states 39^th Congressional district near Los Angeles.
