today with the tragic death of Senator Paul Wellstone,"
said IBEW International President Ed Hill. "The
Senator spoke for the powerless with fearless
conviction, never wavering in his passion for
social justice for all." International
Secretary-Treasurer Jerry OConnor, who previously
was Vice President from the IBEWs Sixth District
which includes Minnesota, said, "Paul Wellstone
had no equal when it came to standing up for
those who dont have money and power in America.
I devoted much of my effort this year urging
our members in Minnesota to send this good man
back to the Senate where he could continue to
fight for all of us. This is a tragic loss that
will be felt by all Minnesotans and all Americans."
