IBEW Statement on the Release of President Biden’s Build Back Better Framework

IBEW International President Lonnie R. Stephenson released the following statement upon the release of the BBB framework announced today:

The IBEW is pleased to see an agreement-in-principle announced by President Biden on the Build Back Better framework that makes historic and overdue investments in American families, workers and communities. Its dual commitment to upgrading America’s infrastructure along with the necessary structural support for families and communities will rebuild the country after years of underinvestment and neglect. The transformative investments in re-establishing American manufacturing, nuclear generation and renewable energy sources while also protecting good union jobs, with high-road labor standards, fulfills the solemn promise that candidate Joe Biden made to the American people to “Build Back Better.” These are commitments endorsed by 81 million American citizens a year ago. IBEW members urge Congress to quickly pass and deliver a bill to President Biden on the transformational Build Back Better Act.
