
CWA, IBEW and AT&T Begin NegotiationsNovember 2, 2005 Today marked a historic bargaining event for the CWA, IBEW and AT&T, as negotiations began on a new AT&T labor agreement covering approximately 12,000 members nationwide. These negotiations have been made additionally challenging by virtue of the SBC acquisition of AT&T. Approval has been granted by all Federal state governmental agencies with the exception of CA, OH and AZ. The parties spent most of the day on procedural issues and logistics of negotiations. Some of the discussions centered on, but not limited to: training hours on company time, subcontracting and job security, EAP, and neutrality. The parties will resume negotiations tomorrow morning at 10am.
